Abstract

As a typical city in development in China, Yichang is characterized by the booming industry, which calls for an effective way to process data backup. But many problems in both software and hardware exist in current prevalent backup system. We should construct hieratical backup system on the basis of open platform. The essay analyzes the weak and strong points of tape library pattern, NAS pattern, NAS + physical tape library pattern and NAS + tape library + VTL pattern. Different strategies in pattern choices are put forward by focusing on the characteristics of the industry in Yichang.
