  • Abstract
    In order to provide a flight delay prediction tool based on software system for airports and airlines, a visualization platform of flight delay intelligent prediction is designed and implemented. The platform consists of airport data acquisition front-end computer, database server, application server, web service server, client equipments, and network communication system. On the server side, several algorithms of flight delay intelligent prediction are encapsulated in web services. The client-side system is built with Flex, which is a RIA framework, to offer representation of flight delay prediction information based on charts, graphs and pictures. The platform provides two prediction methods including broadcasting mode and requesting mode. Simulation results show that the platform can effectively help predicting flight delays for airports and airlines, and provide excellent user experience.
