Abstract
According to catch technology and ontology, some characteristics of traditional metadata system and characteristics of metadata in grid have been analyzed in the paper. An intelligent metadata management system which adopts the completely distributed structure, has been proposed. The architecture called SMICC (semantic metadata intelligent cache controller) adopts an intelligent cache and semantic to control the metadata system, so the grid applications can automatically access metadata in the best way. As a result, remote metadata information is to be stored in the cache of local metadata system, Additionally, SMICC can obtain the consistent concept of query, reduce the inquiry scope, and realize the extensive request of query based on intelligent inference with the use of concept connection, which can not only enhance precision and recall in inquiring process, but also improve the efficiency of access.
