Abstract
Coordination technologies typically concern with enabling interaction among agents and help them cooperate with each other. However access control should also be considered to constrain interaction to ensure data privacy and integrity. A role based coordination model with types applied is proposed in open distributed applications. In this model, a set of agents interacting with each other for a common global system task constitutes a coordination group. Coordination is combined with access control so as to fully characterize the interactions of agents. Roles and types are used for access control. A sample application is used to illustrate the coordination model we proposed.
