Abstract
For the purpose of contribution to the development of industries, the guideline of future standardization activities by SICE in the field of industrial automation system is discussed. Possible standardization activities by SICE can roughly be categorized in (1) educational campaign to academic societies and industries, (2) support for international standardization bodies and their members, and (3) making technical proposals to international standardization bodies. Some schemes for fostering of human resources and for promotion of international forum activities are proposed. The key to success for SICE is to handle these activities under the cooperation with Japanese industries, government and Asian counties.
