  • Abstract
This paper conducts a decomposition research of Chinese industry energy intensity between 1995 and 2006. Empirical results show that Chinese industry aggregate energy intensity keeps the downward trend during the period with a decline of 65.64%.The efficiency effect is the primary contributor, while the structural effect plays a negative role during 2000-2006. Moreover, this paper points out that the decomposition results based on energy consumption classification with AVD1 method can indicate the structural effect and efficiency effect better. The energy-intensive manufacturing cluster is the key of the decline of Chinese industry aggregate energy intensity.
