  • Abstract
An assessment has been conducted on Mubarak Pumping Station (MPS) to determine its alternatives of K-Factor transformers witch can withstand the heat produced due to harmonic currents at various cases under two different conditions. The K-Factor is calculated for each load case on 11 kV level, which is considered as new work to find a value of K-Factor higher than (1.0) at this voltage level. The transformers are rated at 66/11 kV, 25 MVA. The two conditions are condition (1), and condition (2).In condition (1) the two transmission lines 220 kV (S1&S2) connecting (MPS) to Aswan are in operation. In condition (2) the TL (S1) only is in operation.
