  • Abstract
Data transported through the control system of WLAN included: burst data (BD) and non-real-time data (NRD), distinguished each priority by different inter frame space (IFS). BD wait for SIFS, NRD must wait for DIFS while channel is idle. To improve the real-time of burst data of WLAN control system, design WLAN control MAC, BD stations sent RTS/CTS to reserve channel freeing SIFS; non-real-time data transport through standard CSMA/CA and binary exponential random backoff algorithm (BEB). This paper presented the polling backoff algorithm (PBA) to solve the conflict of BD, improved the performance of real-time data and guaranteed the delay to keep the delay limited. Analysis and imitation demonstrates that wireless burst data MAC protocol proposed is preferable to standard wireless media access protocol for network control system.
