Abstract
A novel simple long distance FBG sensor system is proposed and demonstrated. It can easily achieve 45dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) after transmitting along a 50km single mode fiber (SMF) by using only one 1W Raman pump laser source at 1395nm and a segment of 5m Erbium doped fiber (EDF) inserted before the FBG.
