  • Abstract
    This paper investigates outage performance of different power allocation strategies for code division multiple access (CDMA) system. We proposed a simulation method for single-site power allocation algorithm, site selection diversity transmission (SSDT), and multi-site power allocation algorithms viz., link proportional power allocation (LPPA), equal power allocation (EPA). We have compared these power allocation techniques with each other in terms of outage performance, and we observed that SSDT provides the best performance among all power allocation techniques. We have also proposed a new power allocation technique, called maximum power allocation (MPA). In case of multi-site power allocation algorithms, LPPA is better than EPA after considering simulation results. We have also shown the effects of shadowing correlation on the outage performance for all different power allocation strategies.
