  • Abstract
    NASCAP/GEO code has been employed for the on-orbit charging analysis of INSAT-4B. Surface charging of the spacecraft under sunlit and eclipse conditions have been investigated. The INSAT-4B spacecraft is modelled by specifying geometry and the surface materials. The worst case and normal-case GEO plasma environments have been simulated for estimating the potential build up. The analysis has been carried out and extended for to the area of ungrounded ITOC islands on the multilayer insulation that covers the spacecraft body.
