Abstract
In a binocular stereo vision system, a reasonable angle between the optical axes of two cameras can improve precision in the manner of optical axes intersection. This paper presents the best angle range as precision evaluated rules. Two rules together to evaluate the three-dimensional uncertain zone caused by single pixel camera interval sensor are analyzed, then an optimal optical axes intersecting angles result is concluded. An overall inspection layout is designed utilized by the best angles refer to characters of regular dodecahedron. Finally, a football is inspected under the cameras layout. By images taken by cameras, its reconstruction verifies its validity.
