Abstract
We demonstrate 40Ã43 Gbit/s NRZ-DPSK and RZ-DQPSK transmission over 1000 km of ultra-low-loss G.652 fibre with 200 km amplifier spacing. Hybrid contra-directional Raman-EDFA amplification and lumped dispersion management enables simple, cost-effective link design.
