Abstract
Polling systems are widely used in communication systems and computer networks. The discrete-time asymmetric two-tier exhausting and gated polling system is proposed in the paper. On the basis of embedded Markov chain and generating function, mean queuing delay derivative characteristics has been obtained. By use of mathematics analysis and computer simulations, we have analyzed the system performances and obtained some useful results about QOS of the system.
