Abstract
The communication revolution is changing the way many people live and think. Nowadays people want to be connected 24 × 7 to the world around them. Networking and communication have come together to make the world a small place to live in. People want to be in constant touch with their friends and family when they are away from home and avail emergency services whenever needed. From your phone or the web, OnTheGo shows you where you and your friends are at any moment. If you are "on the go", OnTheGo can alert you when friends are close, search around for points of interest, and keep you updated with local contacts. OnTheGo even supports mobile chat, so you can reach out to your nearby friends instantly. If you are on your PC, you can see all of your friends locations, sign up new friends, bookmark locations, and show your OnTheGo location on your own web page or blog. OnTheGo also helps to find emergency services such as hospitals, restaurants, police station and many more such services near your location. OnTheGo is designed to be implemented on cloud as cloud provides a huge storage capacity and a distributed network thus creating and maintaining many contacts and running this application efficiently is possible using cloud. Instead of owning such an application and storing it on the mobile phones which has limited memory, it is better to implement it on the cloud and use it as and when required.
