Abstract
Based on path diversity, Multi-Path Transmission (MPT) is an efficient method to improve delay and anti-error performance of streaming transmission in Wireless Mesh Network (WMN). This paper proposes a rate allocation algorithm among Multiple Descriptions (MD) based on Multiple Descriptions Coding (MDC) adopting H.264 technique, which presents the upper and the latter threshold for rate control to satisfy constrain of MDC transmission delay and to prevent buffer overflow. Simulation results demonstrate that this mechanism can efficiently improve QoS performance of MDC transmission.
