Abstract
This paper presents the results of propagation measurements taken at 3.5 GHz in Rio de Janeiro city. An urban environment was chosen to collect data. The results presented in this paper deal with path loss measurement for coverage prediction and the study of received signal variability essential for determining system parameters. The results are compared with the most popular empirical and statistical models in the literature. This work offers propagation measurements in a frequency range that is globally being allocated for broadband wireless systems.
