  • Abstract
A photonic crystal spherical mirror based on the one-dimension omnidirectional reflection of photonic crystal is presented. The results show that when the diffractive index of two materials is 1.6 (polystyrene) and 4.6 (tellurium) respectively, and the corresponding optimized thickness is 0.75a and 0.25a. And a very high reflectance over wide frequency ranges is observed. In the omnidirectional reflection band, the more than 70 and 80 percent of the light are contained within the central core and circle bounded by the second dark ring of he diffraction pattern respectively.
