Abstract
The performance of fast frequency-hopped binary frequency-shift-keying (FFH/BFSK) spread-spectrum (SS) communication system which employs a product combining receiver (PCR) against the worst case partial-band noise jamming (PBNJ) and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) over frequency-selective Rayleigh-fading channels have been investigated in this paper. The compact characteristic functions are obtained based on the Taylor series expansion. Analytical bit-error rate (BER) expressions that are applicable to higher diversity levels are derived from the characteristic functions. Our analysis which validated by simulation also reveals that there exists an optimum diversity order under certain channel conditions.
