Abstract
Web-based virtual laboratories are promising to save experimental cost, to avoid danger, and to support collaboration and resource sharing. Based on the understanding of the concept, types and development modes of web-based virtual laboratories, this paper presents the design and development of a web-based virtual lab (IWVL) for junior high schools´ physics teaching, especially experimental teaching. The design requirements, the design and development of virtual instruments, and functional components are highlighted in the discussions.
