Abstract
This paper presentes some courses and pedagogical methods to effectively cultivate undergraduates´ computer abilities. It describes a computer curricular framework, which emphasizes the theoretical and practical aspects of information technology application development. The courses divide into two threads in accordance with the basic skills and professional skills. The former is that all students master knowledge. The latter is professional skills training according to speciality. The paper also introduced several effective pedagogical methods in order to increase practice ability, self-study ability and innovation ability of students. Experimentation is an important ability cultivating means, which train students a high level of computer application ability. So this paper introduces experimentation arrangement. A formal evaluation has been carried out and demonstrated a very effective and realistic learning experience for the students.
