Abstract
In this letter, a novel time reversal imaging (TRI) algorithm is presented. The conventional TR method generates the image by using amplitudes of the focal signals. However, the new approach utilizes the time corresponding to the maximum value of the cross-correlation function between time-reversed focal signal and probing signal to reconstruct the target image. Our investigation indicates that the proposed method can not only distinguish targets by utilizing few echo signals, but also suppress the noise effectively. The experiments prove that the method can accurately locate the target by using three echo signals, even when signal-to-noise ratio is -10 dB.
