The influence of wing taper ratio on aeroelastic flutter is considered here. By applying assumed mode shape functions and Theodorsen´s unsteady aerodynamic theory to Lagrange´s equations, the equations of motion ready for flutter analysis is developed. A Matlab implementation of previously developed flutter analysis method is validated using Goland´s wing taken from open literature. It is observed that current results coincide well with the analytical solutions. The validated flutter analysis procedure is then used to calculate the flutter of straight planform tapered Goland´s wing with various of taper ratios. In this case, the results show that a wing with smaller taper ratio has higher flutter speed.
