Abstract
On the basis of three-dimensional finite element modeling method, a cutting model is built in accordant with the real working environment. In the simulation, some results including the temperature distribution, cutting force variable and stress field were obtained. The simulation result can help to improve and optimize the parameters of the real turning process, to reduce costly and time consuming experimental approaches, and it puts up a more effective method for research of metal cutting theory and development of new cutters.
