Abstract
Characteristics test of large power motors were usually restricted by suitable power supply or load in laboratory, therefore prediction analysis of tests are needed sometimes. In this paper, a 2MW multiunit and multiphase structure of the large power low speed PMSM is theoretically analyzed, and tests of different unit-matching were carried out to validate the theoretical analysis and prediction, where some units of the motor were used as motor and some other units as generator simultaneously. Valuable conclusions and some suggestions were given in the paper, which possess reference value to the design and test of multiunit and large power propulsion PMSMs.
