  • Abstract
STARTING FROM scratch and in only two years, Formula E and its partners built an all-electric racing car capable of going up to 250km/h and pledged to push the still nascent electric vehicle technology into a new era. During the series\´ final test race in Donnington on 19 August, semiconductor technology manufacturer Qualcomm, a project partner, unveiled wirelessly charged safety cars and said that within a year the technology will be employed in the racing cars as well. "Formula E wanted to get the cars out into the race as soon as possible, which means we didn\´t have enough time to implement everything we wanted," said Graeme Davison, Qualcomm\´s vice president for Technology.
