  • Abstract
    A portable instrument of fault diagnosis with high performance and miniature use based on ARM and DSP was developed in this paper. This system adopted the structure of dual-CPU,which can exploit the particular advantages of each CPU: DSP is good at high speed data processing, and ARM specializes in control and net communication. Its hardware configuration and software structure were described, meanwhile, the communication between the two CPUs was also studied. Finally, the gear experiment indicated the portable instrument based on ARM and DSP which completed functions of data acquisition, storage, analysis and communication, can meet the requirement of fault diagnosis and state monitoring of machine in factories.
