Abstract
In mobile communication environment, the wireless channel is time varying due to the mobility of the wireless terminal and multi-path propagation. It has been shown that MIMO will give multiplexing gain and/or better quality of service. It has also been proved that AAS can provide improved spectral efficiency because AAS uses spatial multiplexing technique. This paper proposes an algorithm for reconfigurable communication system based on both Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) and Adaptive Antenna Systems (AAS). In this paper, we used different array configuration for MIMO systems. The channel model for multi-polarized antennas is used in the simulations. The polarization change at every scatterer is included using a dyad. The performances of arrays are evaluated using capacity as the metric. The mutual coupling between the dipoles of different orientations is also included to make simulation more realistic.
