Recovery of the harmonic fundamental from the mixed partial derivatives of the STFT phase

A correlation based on the mixed partial derivatives of the phase of the short time Fourier transform (STFT) is developed and applied to speech. This correlation function recovers the unambiguous pitch fundamental, removing most of the effects of the vocal tract resonance. It is therefore well suited for efficient and estimation of pitch and as a voicing detector.
