  • Abstract
The biomagnetic field is a vector field unlike the bioelectric potential field which is a scalar field. Therefore the correct way of detecting biomagnetic fields is to detect the three orthogonal components of the field in each derived location. Demand to advance on new measurement configurations, better signal to noise values, and to get easier maintenance, new measurement system based on DC-SQUIDS were made. This study presents results from balancing an ABC-lead system based on the second order vector gradiometer. This system does give the XYZ-vector data as a linear combination of three independent measurements. During data gathering only rotation of the cryostat is needed to get from one measurement to an other.
