Abstract
A broadband point-to-point fixed wireless access system in 38GHz band is being developed in Japan to realize a maximum throughput of 1 Gbps. A double-layer plate-laminating waveguide slot array antenna is adopted to realize the desired antenna gain of more than 32 dBi. The designed antennas are fabricated by diffusion bonding of laminated thin metal plates, which is a promising process of high-precision and high mass-productivity. By introducing a shielding wall in the middle of two antennas arranged in the H-plane, the spatial isolation of more than 65dB as well as the individual transmission and reception can be achieved.
