Abstract
Multimedia becomes the most important element on the Internet and starts attracting mobile users to utilize it. Watching movie or television program on the mobile device became trends among the mobile users. Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) offers a seamless roaming in order to provide mobile multimedia services. One of the challenges in MIPv6 technology is security. Hackers catch the attention to hijack multimedia content with intention to do illegal distribution, and they always try to hijack the content from the weak point on the MIPv6, which is Binding Update process. This paper proposes a new secure Binding Update mechanism to optimize the security with shorter latency. Simulation results show the proposed mechanism performs better compare to Improved Bombing Resistant Protocol (IBRP).
