Abstract
Inverter-fed motor drives can be subject to transient overvoltage problems caused by switching operations. An overvoltage suppression method for parallel inverters that uses no passive filtering components and a new modulation strategy are presented in this paper. The used modulation strategy allows pulse accumulation at the motor terminals which mitigates the overvoltage. The method is verified by prototype testing.
