Abstract
Vegetation monitoring is one of the major applications of polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR). In this paper, permittivity estimation method for vegetation by using multi-angle polarimetric radar is proposed. The method utilizes Brewster´s angle of double-bounce scattering component. We demonstrate validity of the proposed method by indoor model experiments. We use a dihedral reflector and dipole cloud to obtain double-bounce scattering and volume scattering, respectively. The experimental results show that the proposed method works properly when volume scatterer exists.
