Abstract
Exact solutions to the set of nonlinear two-fluid MHD equations describing the physical problem of a steady current flow in a two-dimensional resistive plasma-filled diode are obtained and investigated. Even though, in the course of investigation, the class of solutions becomes narrower, the final solution is derived as an exact solution to the initial set of equations. Such factors as the representation of the conductivity in a fairly general form, the allowance for current interactions, and a sufficiently wide scope of effects describable analytically make it feasible to reveal possible important situations to which the approach developed might be implemented practically.
