Abstract
SAR echo simulation is significant for new sensor design, SAR system test and SAR echo processing algorithm development. However, the traditional SAR echo simulators always suffer from heavy computation and huge memory, especially for the extended scenes containing multi-reflection constructions. In this paper, a novel algorithm - Adaptive Ray Tube Splitting Algorithm (ARTSA) based on TIN model is presented to increase the efficiency of multi-reflection contributions by SBR for high SAR echo simulation performance. Simulation examples show that the proposed algorithm could reduce the computational memory greatly and enhance the efficiency of SAR echo simulation observably under the same calculation conditions.
