Abstract
In this paper the Authors compare two methods to perform Shielding Effectiveness measurements on shielding materials: an apertured TEM cell used as emitter (“source”) in a GTEM, and the same apertured TEM cell as a receiver in a Reverberation Chamber (RC). The aim of the work is to compare the experimental results of the different measurement methods on the same samples of homogeneous material (aluminium sheet) and meshed materials (cotton canvas). The criteria adopted to make the comparison are briefly explained and the results achieved are presented. The two methods examined both provided very similar results for homogeneous conductive samples, while in the GTEM the SE values for meshed samples has shown results ranging from a minimum to a maximum depending on the orientation of the sample.
