Abstract
In this work a low cost electronically steerable radiator and reflector array (ESRRA) antenna designed for 2.4 GHz WiFi band is proposed. The antenna composed is formed by integrating a monopole antenna with symmetrical-anchor shaped multiple active frequency selective surface (AFSS) units, to produce omnidirectional sweeping range of entire azimuth plane. The AFSS array loaded with varactors are biased by a 0-30 V continuously variable voltage. The mechanism is discussed and validated in this work. The radiating direction is continuously tunable. The antenna system is simulated and fabricated.
