  • Abstract
    The ease of copying digital data with the power of P2P file sharing and internet has made piracy of digital content a major problem in today´s world. The digital watermarking has evolved as a solution to such problems. This paper proposes a wavelet based algorithm for copyright protection of digital videos. The proposed scheme embeds binary watermark into specifically prepared plane in temporal dimension of Ychannel of host RGB video to gain maximum imperceptibility and robustness. Watermark is embedded using Spread Spectrum technique to achieve higher value of robustness against various attacks on the video. This scheme utilizes a specific version of gamma corrected YCbCr color space used in JPEG File Interchange Format (JFIF) to achieve maximum compatibility in cross platform file interchange and robustness against JPEG based compression. The proposed algorithm is tested against various types of attacks. The results are presented on the basis of PSNR of original and modified video as well as correlation of the original and extracted watermark. It is demonstrated that the proposed algorithm scores well on both the counts.
