Abstract
Indoor broadband use of 2.7-2.9 GHz radar spectrum represents a great potential for secondary spectrum implementation. This paper provides a country-wide analysis of indoor secondary operation in Air Traffic Control (ATC) radar band, taking the territory of Macedonia as study area. The assumed secondary system involves multiple WiFi-like devices co-located with the actual population in the study area. Due to the high ATC radar sensitivity and stringent protection requirements, the analysis revealed that only limited densities of secondary devices can be allowed, depending on their capabilities related to spectrum sensing and cooperation.
