  • Abstract
    A common approach to interference networks is to fix the number of users K, and then let the SNR → ∞ or SNR → 0. In this paper we consider a different limit. We let the bandwidth B → ∞ as in the limit SNR → 0, but fix the ratio K/B to get a fixed spectral usage. We are focusing on the energy to transmit one bit in this model. Specifically, the question we pose is if wideband transmission is more efficient than narrowband transmission. We find that there is region of parameters where FDMA (frequency division multiple access) is almost optimum.
