Abstract
In general, electrolytic capacitor is used in AC drive system as the smoothing capacitor. Thus, the product lifetime is decided by the electrolytic capacitor mainly. Therefore, the lifetime extension is expected by exchanging the electrolytic capacitor for film capacitor. In this paper, the influence of reduction of DC-link capacitance on a position sensorless control for permanent magnet synchronous motor is clarified. As a result, it was understood that average estimated angle error is lower when the DC-link capacitance is large.
