Abstract
The traditional PID controller is difficult to auto-adapt and adjust parameters in Field Oriented Controlled (FOC) induction motor drives. In order to overcome the disadvantage, the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) approach was proposed for the dynamic optimization to the auto-adapted gain. Simulation and experiment results indicate that the control system based on the PSO-PID algorithm in FOC for induction motors has strong robustness. It has good track of load variation, fast dynamic response, and high precision of tracking velocity. Moreover, it can be adapted to the occasions of load changing frequently such as electric vehicles.
