Abstract
A model four-stage blumlein line was constructed and was simultaneously switched with reflected shock waves. A quadruple voltage pulse for an unloaded line was obtained with this method. A scale up of our apparatus seems to have a wide range of application in the plasma physics and the controlled thermonuclear fusion researches. To the best of our knowledge this is the first time that the method of using shock waves to trigger the multi-stage blumlein line is disclosed. It is shown that the many switches can be replaced instead by a single switch in 3 multi-stage blumlein line. Therefore, we must discuss in details, what kind of advantages the simultaneous operation of more than one switch does have, rather than the replacing single switch beforehand.
