Abstract
A new two-switch flyback converter is proposed in this paper. The most attractive feature of the proposed converter is that both of its main power switches can be made to operate with zero-voltage switching (ZVS) with the help of just one auxiliary circuit consisting of just one active auxiliary switch and a capacitor. Other features of the proposed converter are that it can operate with less peak voltage stress than previously proposed single-switch and two-switch converters and it can operate with the power transfer frequency of push-pull converters. In the paper, the proposed converter is introduced and its modes of operation are discussed in detail. The feasibility of the proposed converter is confirmed with experimental results obtained from a prototype.
