Abstract
This study investigates the influence of the number of magnet layers and the stator structure on the characteristics of a PMASynRM with bonded rare-earth magnets. The PMASynRM with a distributed winding stator and a two-layer rotor was found to have the highest efficiency. Moreover, we compared the characteristics of this PMASynRM with the characteristics of an IPMSM with sintered rare-earth magnets.
