Abstract
This paper investigated factors influencing legislation and privacy regulation of personal data in Internet transactions and medical data. The purpose of privacy law is to determine how to curtail abuses resulting in theft, selling and improprieties of consumer personal data collected as a result of Internet activities or medical treatments. Statistical analysis was performed on common factors found in legislation, judicial decisions and privacy regulations to establish their relevancy to legislation and privacy regulations. The results were interpreted with relevancy to the degree of the relationships between legislation, regulations and the crossed product of legislation and regulations observing how these factors influenced each respectively.
