  • Abstract
We present an investigation on the optimal aperture, both its size and current source distribution, for the maximum penetration of signals in near-field applications. The near-field beam radius is calculated for different size of the uniform Huygen´s source distribution so that the optimal size of a uniform Huygen aperture is concluded. For a general aperture distribution, both analytical methods and optimization algorithm are applied.
