Abstract
The paper is focused on the design of a compact antenna for hand-held devices. The antenna excels in tuning feature enabling the operation at most important LTE bands. The design uses tunable capacitors coupled to the antenna elements, a tunable lumped resonator embedded into ground plane and switchable inductor at antenna input to achieve a continuous tuning operation within 700 - 960 MHz and 1700 - 2400 MHz. Wide tuning range, very good impedance match and small antenna size are the unique achievements of the presented original design. Further we focused on investigation of the antenna radiation effect on the human tissue in terms of SAR distribution and on the compensation of detuning effect due to tissue presence.
