Abstract
Climate information on hydrometeor precipitation is of vital importance for correct radio system dimensioning and effective utilisation of radio spectrum. This paper presents recent work in deriving new rainfall rate maps for Norway. Long term measured data from a large number of tipping bucket stations have been analysed and new high resolution maps created. The results also reveal a significant deviation from available rain rate maps provided by the ITU-R where the latter over predicts the rainfall rate exceeded at 0.01% of an average year by up to 100 % at the western coastal area.
